Agotar la danza: Performance y política del movimiento, es el primer título de la colección Cuerpo de Letra que examina la obra de coreógrafos contemporáneos fundamentales que han transformado la escena de la danza desde principios de los años noventa en Europa y Estados Unidos. Este libro ofrece una significativa y radical revisión de nuestras ideas sobre la danza y plantea la necesidad de un compromiso renovado entre los estudios de danza y las prácticas artísticas y filosóficas experimentales.

El autor: André Lepecki es profesor adjunto en el Department of Performance Studies de la Universidad de Nueva York, ensayista y dramaturgista. Ha sido editor del libro Of the Presence of the Body (Sobre la presencia del cuerpo, 2004) y coeditor, junto con Sally Banes, de The Senses in Performance (Routledge, 2006).

Agotar la danza: Performance y política del movimiento is the first title of the collection Cuerpo de Letra that examines the work of contemporary fundamental choreographers who have transformed the dance scene from beginning of the nineties in Europe and The United States. This book offers a significant and radical review of the dance and raises the need of a commitment renewed between the studies of dance and the artistic and philosophical experimental practices.

The author: André Lepecki is an assistant teacher in the Department of Performance Studies of the University of New York, essayist and playwright. He has beenthe editor of the book Of the Presence of the Body and coeditor, together with Sally Banes, of The Senses in Performance (Routledge, 2006).

Palestina: existir es resistir

Exposición de fotografía del Centro de Medios que retrata la vida cotidiana del pueblo palestino como un acto de resistencia. El valor de la lucha actual del pueblo palestino, una vez acabada su capacidad de defensa por medio de las armas o de sus políticos, es precisamente continuar en su tierra, expresando con su cotidianidad su frente de lucha. La simplicidad de seguir viviendo alcanza así un valor heroico y, definitivamente, se hace patente que existir es resistir.

Photography exhibition of the “Centro de Medios” that portrays the daily life of the Palestinian people as an act of resistance. The value of the current fight of the Palestinian people, once ended their capacity of defense employing weapons or politicians strategies, is to continue in their land, expressing through commonness their fight. The simplicity of continuing living reaches this way a heroic value and, definitively, there becomes clear that to exist is to resist.

Invernadero

El Invernadero es un espacio donde se libera el proceso creativo de los límites del consumo. La creatividad como fin, no como medio. Hipótesis: Eliminando los fines comerciales la creación puede expandirse mas allá de lo convencional.

Creatividad, experimentación, reivindicación y mucho cachondeo es su filosofía. El caos como contexto para la creación de su actual experimento y la experiencia demuestran que la creatividad es mucho más potente ante estímulos inesperados.

The Invernadero is a place where the creative process is released from the limits of consumption. Creativity considered a main aim, not a means. Hypothesis: not pursuing commercial aims, creativity expands beyond the conventional.

It’s philosophy is creativity and experimentation. Chaos as a context for creation of his current experiment and experience, show that creativity is much more powerful in unexpected situations.
